Tonight a bit of stuff which is new to Utility Fog, if not to the world. Hungarian artist Tigrics has a few albums out which I'm ashamed not to have discovered earlier, and I'll be playing a few tracks of his tonight. Also received some excellent new 3"s on Brisbane's ROOM40 label, whose head honcho Lawrence English played @ Frigid tonight - unfortunately didn't manage to play 'em, so next week we'll have lots from those releases... Community service announcement: that perennial Kid, Miguel Depedro aka Kid 606, is playing @ the Beck's Festival Bar this coming Friday, the 28th. This little kid has a FourPlay gig on, but I do recommend heading down there to catch him if you can - last time he played he blew everyone's heads right off with a set that surpassed everything he's released, so it's fair to say that even if you're not the biggest fan of his albums, you'll likely enjoy the show! Oh, and the price has gone down from $35 to $25... Blastcorp - dropp (cover of Autechre track from EP7!) [self-released] One Response to “Playlist 23.01.05”

email: utilityfog at frogworth dot com bsky Mastodon Utility Fog teeters on the cusp between acoustic and electronic, organic and digital. Constantly changing and rearranging, this aural cloud of nanotech consumes genres and spits them out in new forms. Whether cataloguing the jungle resurgence, tracking the ups and downs of noise and drone, or unearthing the remnants of glitch and folktronica, all is contextualised within artist & genre histories for a fulfilling sonic journey. Since all these genre names are already pretty ridiculous, we thought we'd coin a new one. So "postfolkrocktronica" it is. Wear it. Now available: free "Live on Utility Fog" downloads! The right song( or is it the wrong song?), i think it is called, a track by Juana, is my favourite of her works. It's lying around somewhere.
I think you do a great show, likened to shows broadcasted on RTRFM in perth, Underground solution, albiet. Pity its on a sunday night, work beckons :)
