And once again we join with you in wonderment at the world of mooseic! The influential (to some) American pragmatist philosopher Richard Rorty died on Friday, and since Brian Eno was a huge fan, I thought I'd start with a couple of his collaborations before getting into the more contemporary music. We've got Bianca Calandra's new project Machine est mon Coeur, an amazing combination of experimental and indiepop which I did play something off last week; there's some brilliant new dubstep/drill'n'bass/breakcore from Milanese, and some astonishingly broken-down drum'n'bass-influenced sounds from Melbourne's Terminal Sound System... And one track from the fantastic new Fridge album. Next week on the show we should have an interview with the ever-gracious Kieran Hebden from that band and of course Four Tet. David Byrne & Brian Eno - Qu'ran [not on the recently remastered version of My Life In The Bush of Ghosts. See discussion & links of possible interest here]

email: utilityfog at frogworth dot com bsky Mastodon Utility Fog teeters on the cusp between acoustic and electronic, organic and digital. Constantly changing and rearranging, this aural cloud of nanotech consumes genres and spits them out in new forms. Whether cataloguing the jungle resurgence, tracking the ups and downs of noise and drone, or unearthing the remnants of glitch and folktronica, all is contextualised within artist & genre histories for a fulfilling sonic journey. Since all these genre names are already pretty ridiculous, we thought we'd coin a new one. So "postfolkrocktronica" it is. Wear it. Now available: free "Live on Utility Fog" downloads!
